Mr. David Hurdle
Mr. Hurdle holds the position of
Manager
Ports
& Marine Structures. He has more than 25 years experience in wave modelling,
hydraulic engineering and statistical analysis. He has acted as project leader
in a number of large advisory projects, including projects to derive the design
wave conditions for the flood defences along large sections of the
Dutch
Coast
. He has also been project leader for clients including Shell, the
Abu Dhabi
based Adma-Opco Oil Company and the
Port
of
Hamburg
. He has also participated as team member in many other advisory projects, such
as for Statoil's Europipe project, Al Mirfa Power and Desalination Power Plant
at
Abu Dhabi
and for Aramco's beach erosion study at Najma. He was also task leader of
hydrodynamic modelling for the MAST II
neptune
project (aimed at improving methods to derive hydraulic design conditions)
responsible for co-ordinating contributions to the modelling from large
institutes such as Delft Hydraulics, GKSS and BMT. He has also carried out
numerous wave climate studies and the statistical analysis of normal and extreme
wave conditions for harbour design and morphology projects all over the world.
Mr. Hurdle has extensive experience of studies of wave propagation, wave
penetration and interactions between waves and ships and the use of model
results and measurements to obtain design data. From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Hurdle
