Mr. Roelant Snoek

Roelant Snoek is a biologist with experience in marine and aquatic ecology. He has qualifications in ecology in relation with environmental management and has gained research experience in several projects. At Alkyon he is a member of the Ecomorphological team, which investigates the relation between organisms and their habitat. He did a study on the complex physiology of the Swordfish. He also did a study on evolutionairy processes in Mediterranean fishes. Furthermore he has studied the risks of introducing non-indigenous species in the Dutch coastal waters. Roelant has started his carreer as a junior researcher. During this period he researched dispersion of Macrofauna in tubes between waterbodies. In this research he experimentally tested the possible barriers for dispersion between waterbodies. He also contributed with extensive data analyses to a research project on the effects of high water discharge on Macrofauna in freshwater streams.
