Dr. Gerbrant van Vledder

Dr. van Vledder has 24 years of experience in wave modelling, wave climate studies and statistical analysis of metocean data. He has participated as team member and project leader in many research and advisory projects, and has published several papers on wave group statistics, extreme wave analysis, the modelling of wind waves in shallow water and on the computation of non-linear four-wave interactions. He has been a member of the international working group WAM, and now he is an active member of the WISE group (Waves In Shallow Environments). He was a member of the IAHR Working Group on Extreme Statistics. He was involved in the NESS and SNSG projects to determine the extreme hydraulic and meteorological conditions on the North Sea . He is presently involved in shallow water wave modelling, statistical analysis of metocean data, the modelling of non-linear four-wave interactions in operational wave prediction models, the determination of wave boundary conditions for the Dutch sea dikes
