Mr. Nils Vögeding

Mr. Vögeding is a port & coastal engineer, focussed on scour protection design and pipeline/seabed interaction. He graduated in 2009 at the University of Le Havre, France.  

During his M.Sc. thesis he investigated the hydrodynamic and morphodynamic behaviour around the lagoon entrance in the Bay of Ambriz , Angola . In particular, he studied the consequences of a breakwater construction on the sediment transport within the bay.  

For his diploma in International Civil Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Hildesheim, Germany, he developed three alternative layouts for the extension of the Port of Poti, Georgia and compared them considering wave penetration, navigability, sedimentation and cost. He further made a conceptual design for the breakwater for the chosen layout.
