Mr. Lykle Voort

Mr. Voort is currently developing scientific software in multi-platform environments. During his Aerospace Engineering studies at the Delft University of Technology, he specialised in numerical simulations of transonic flows. He has broad experience in different aspects of scientific software development, including operating system interaction, high-performance computing on Linux clusters, but also of the underlying numerical models. Mr. Voort is closely involved in the maintenance of the SIMONA flow modeling software package for the Dutch Ministry of Tranport, Public Works and Water Management, in particular in the areas of post-processing, cross-platform build-automation and testing. Other noteworthy projects include the maintenance of operational storm-surge and wave prediction systems. Recently, he adapted a GRIB-reading library for use on the Windows platform, in cooperation with the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF).
