Geomatics Business Park

As from 3 April 2000 Alkyon Hydraulic Consultancy & Research is located at the Geomatics Business Park.

The Geomatics Business Park is located in Marknesse between the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) and Delft Hydraulics (former WL|Delft Hydraulics Laboratory) in the province of Flevoland, the Netherlands. The businesspark provides optimal conditions and facilities to high-tech companies with a high level of innovation.

In this Geomatics Park, companies will be established that, in any way, are occupied with the lay-out and the management of land or water, that undertake research in this field and that supply commercial products and services. The emphasis hereby lays on the application of earth observation and remote sensing techniques. Besides, companies can establish that are active in the field of the supply, preparation or distribution of the necessary data.
The Geomatics Park can be seen as the Silicon Valley of the Geo-observation sector, in which new types of products and services are developed. The park will become a meeting place for companies working in the field of earth observation, informatics and geosciences.

The clustering of complementary companies, active in this sector, will lead to synergy-effects. This is strongly stimulated by the rise of common programs and projects in which new functionality is developed. The neighborhood of the NLR is of great importance. This large technological institution provides the necessary knowledge and facilities that supports the established companies and promotes the development of new technologies.
The Geomatics Park stimulates the development of these initiatives within the institutional framework of the Geomaticapark Foundation. Delegations of the tenants and the NLR are involved in this framework. This also forms a platform for raising subsidies, acquiring common projects and developing (ongoing) cooperation.
